The Election of 2000
The Democrats’ Scenario: Bush, caught giving a bash for cash, should be cast aside, the case of Florida showing little care for the wishes of the majority; the Democratic core preferred Gore.
The Republicans’ Scenario: Gore, a bore when he’s bare, would care too much about every little case, while the cash would flow at every bash for Bush.
What Actually Happened: Gore, at the core, did care about each case; and Bush did throw a bash for cash. The votes were cast, and at the cost of a coat in New Hampshire and a chat in the Supreme Court, it all came down to: chad.
