a blessing for Maia Thulé

May your days be many, and bright

as beargrass and forget-me-nots

in meadows flooded with sunlight,

and may you thrive on what you’re taught —

to laugh, and sing, and do what’s right,

however hard, and not get caught

up in snares of falsehood, and fight

like a champ, move with sublime

élan, and love this dance of time.
