Campaign ’24

The world is burning. There’s too much to care

about, so numbness is alluring. Greed

and lies and cruelty are in vogue — the glare

of oncoming headlights is blinding. How

to make sense of what makes no sense? The air

is all wrong these days. The meanest are proud

of their virtue as they squander our seed

corn on bad bets. Rage is all the rage now

and going for broke is the going creed.
