Our Stuff

You didn’t want a birthday present — so

you said, and I’m holding you to it. True,

we’ve got lots of stuff, our place is a showcase

of stuff — we’e blessed with more than enough —

too much, maybe. Too many things. You know

it, I know it. So I’ll give you this puff

of cool breeze on a hot day, this bright blue

sky ringing with birdsong. This is the stuff

of love — our abundance, our plenitude.
