Quantum Foam

. . . the quantum foam of virtual particles that blip in and out of existence and prevent empty space from being truly empty.

     —KATRINA MILLER, New York Times

Look closer — no, closer. Not your hand, not

the color of your skin and not the cells,

closer, forget everything you were taught

about molecules, atoms with their shells

of whirling particles, the churn of things

not really things, where the universe tells

its story beyond our words, beyond thinking,

beyond metaphor — the breath of God,

the stage where existence dances and sings.
