Your Paradise

The struggle of your life is your paradise.

                                                      — EIDO-ROSHI

Go ahead — try telling that to a grieving

mother whose struggle has been a song

of broken hope — tell her this is her heaven.

Tell it to the schoolboy who has lost

his heart to broken dreams and can’t believe

he’ll dream again, tell him this is the cost

of love. Tell it to a broken soul longing

to be less than alive, just a ghost.

Go ahead, tell them — tell them how they’re wrong.
