girl with a rose

no abstractions cloud her eye

   (hope, history, do and don't)

   (terror, tomorrow, want and won't)

she sees and doesn't wonder why

no symbols here, no paradigms

(truth and beauty, heaven and hell)

(man and nature, stories to sell)

she sees, releasing space and time

no words intrude, no chattering names

   (species, genus, flower, rose)

(an ornament, a thing that grows)

she sees no it, no me, no shame

no thing, no other, no thanks, no please

(her gaze gives birth to galaxies)
