Information Architecture
The opposite of lost
When your information architecture is right, visiting your site is like walking into a stranger’s kitchen and knowing where to find a fork without having to ask.
Information architecture and content combine to generate “information scent” — a sense of whether you’re close to finding what you want on a website or intranet.
Here’s how I make sure your site is easy to navigate:
First, I analyze the content. I analyze the topics you want to put on your site, including your existing website and other content in any form. I work with you to assess their importance to your business goals and how they’re related to each other.
Then I develop the structure, navigation, and information design. I provide an outline, wireframes, and page templates showing content structure, navigation labels, and other linking.
